Hi, I’m Meaghan! Thank you for checking out my site! I created this blog because I wanted to share my passion and knowledge about movement, fitness and health. I love learning and I hope to share what I learn with you.
I am a Registered Massage Therapist and personal trainer currently living and having an adventure in Iqaluit, Nunavut (Baffin Island: the Arctic!!) with my fiancé, Shaun, and our dog, Bill. After a 14 month arctic experience, we will be returning to our home in Nanaimo, British Columbia in July of 2016.
I have been a gym rat since my teenage years; I love everything to do with strength training and fitness. I have spent time pretending to be a runner and competed in half marathon races. I have spent much more time trying to be proficient at big movements in the gym (deadlifts, pull-ups and squats). I get excited about heavy weights and hard sprints! I love being outdoors and spend time hiking, paddleboarding and boating.
I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2010 and absolutely love my career. I began my practice in Victoria, BC after graduating from the 3000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. I was lucky enough to return to WCCMT as an instructor and taught courses such as General Pathology, Research, Nutrition and Therapeutic Exercise. I miss teaching a lot!
I moved to my hometown of Nanaimo, BC in 2015 and shortly after left for an experience in the Arctic. In Iqaluit we have discovered the beauty of the tundra, the harshness of the weather and climate and the remoteness of a community with only air travel to the next community.
I love to get sweaty in the gym, eat healthy foods, massage and learn. I hope to share all of this with you!
